The Buzzcocks - Manchester Academy 1 - 16th Jan 2009
What a night!!
The Lurkers came on at about 8:10, and did a fine set, which included some of my favourites, including New Guitar In Town, Go Ahead Punk and Make My Day, Little Ole Wine Drinker Me, and it really surprised me, and made my night, when they announced they were going to cover the New York Dolls' cover of the classic Bo Diddley song "Pills," and they dedicated it to the legend that is Johnny Thunders (RIP)
After that wonderful set, the atosphere grew, and at around 9:15, the Buzzcocks arrived, and went straight into "Fast Cars" to start "Another Music in a Different Kitchen," missing out of course Orgasm Addict, which would come later.
It was a stunning set, and the virtualy sold-out Academy was buzzing, which made it an even more enjoyable night.
After going through both Albums, and 'ending' the night, they came back for an en-core, starting with Orgasm Addict, which was amazing, and then others followed such as Lipstick, Late For The Train, ESP etc and these really were the highlight of the show, and got the Academy rockin'!!!

Thanks for that! It's a shame these bands would never come close to filling a decent sized venue here.
